1. Product Overview

The Original HIWIN HGR35 is a size 35 profile rail for the HIWIN HG Series heavy-load ball-type linear guideway. This page is for the rail-only product. Guide blocks, rail mounting bolts and accessories are not included unless they are separately identified in the quotation.

HGR35 is commonly selected for machine tools, CNC equipment, industrial automation systems and production machinery where a larger rail section, high rigidity and stable load support are required. Compared with smaller HG rail sizes, the HGR35 has a 34 mm rail width, 29 mm rail height and an approximate rail weight of 6.30 kg per meter.

The rail can be combined with official HG35 square, low-profile and flange blocks. The correct block structure should be selected according to the mounting envelope, assembly height, bolt direction, load requirement and permissible moment of the complete guideway.

HGR35 should not be ordered from nominal size alone. Confirm the exact rail model, overall length, mounting-hole layout, end distances, accuracy grade, preload requirement, matching block model and surface-treatment requirement before production.

The dimensions above apply to the standard HGR35R rail fastened from above. Dynamic load rating, static load rating and permissible moment are determined by the selected guide block and the complete rail-and-block assembly. These ratings should not be assigned to the loose rail by itself.

Guide blocks are not included with the rail unless the quotation clearly states the complete assembly and block quantity. The block suffix must not be omitted because CA, CB and CC versions use different mounting-hole structures.

4. Accuracy and Preload

For an interchangeable HGR35 rail and interchangeable HG35 blocks, the officially listed accuracy grades are C, H and P.

C is the normal accuracy grade for general machinery and standard industrial motion. H is the high accuracy grade for systems requiring tighter dimensional control and running parallelism. P is the precision grade for accurately machined mounting surfaces and more demanding positioning requirements.

For interchangeable HG35 guideways, the applicable preload codes are Z0 and ZA. Z0 is the light-preload class for general motion and lower-impact applications. ZA is the medium-preload class for increased rigidity and higher precision requirements.

ZB is an official HG Series preload class, but it applies to a non-interchangeable guideway assembled and matched as a complete set. It must not be selected as a standard preload code for a loose interchangeable HGR35 rail.

When a customer requires ZB heavy preload or a specially matched precision assembly, the rails and blocks should be quoted as a complete non-interchangeable set. The rail quantity, block quantity, reference rail, accuracy grade, preload and pairing arrangement must all be confirmed together.

5. Selection, Installation and Custom Rail Notes

Confirm the overall rail length from the approved machine drawing. Rail length is not the same as machine stroke. The required length depends on the block length, block quantity, spacing between blocks, overtravel allowance, end clearance and mechanical stop arrangement.

The standard HGR35 mounting-hole pitch is 80 mm. For standard rails, the reference end distance is 20 mm. A custom length may result in different end distances, and the final first-hole and last-hole positions should be confirmed before rail cutting.

Official standard rail lengths for HG35 include multiple factory-defined lengths up to approximately 3,960 mm with the standard hole layout. The official maximum rail length is 4,000 mm. Actual availability, cutting capability, transport restrictions and lead time must be checked for the exact order.

Where the requested axis is longer than the practical one-piece rail length, a jointed rail arrangement may be reviewed. Jointed rails require matched joint markings, controlled end preparation and a defined installation sequence. The mounting base must support alignment across the joint.

When two parallel rails are used, identify the reference rail, reference shoulder and installation orientation. The machine base should be checked for flatness, straightness and parallelism before final bolt tightening.

For replacement work, provide photographs of the existing block markings and rail layout. Installing worn blocks onto a new rail may result in inconsistent preload, excessive resistance or reduced running accuracy. Replacing the rail and blocks as a matched set is the more controlled option when wear is significant.
