Recommended Greases for Linear Guideways

The following greases are widely used in linear guides, ball screws, and precision slides. They are selected based on compatibility with rolling elements, mechanical stability, water resistance, and ease of sourcing.

How to Use These Greases Correctly

Follow the interval: as a starting point, re-grease after about 100 km of travel under normal conditions. Shorten the interval in dusty, humid or high-duty environments.
Distribute the grease: after filling, move the carriage back and forth at least three carriage lengths and repeat twice so the grease reaches the raceways.
Avoid mixing greases: when changing from one brand or base oil to another, clean the old grease out or purge it thoroughly to avoid incompatibility.
Consider stroke length: for strokes shorter than twice the carriage length, add fittings on both ends and manually move the carriage during lubrication.
Keep records: note brand, date and running distance to optimize the maintenance interval later.
