The Challenge: Complex Machining Without a Factory

Eric faced a dilemma that many sourcing agents will recognize. His VIP client — a manufacturer of automated optical inspection (AOI) machines — required an urgent upgrade for their X/Y axis positioning stages. • Concentricity for low backlash: We verified the concentricity of the machined ends (motor side and support side) to be within 0.005 mm using a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), providing a solid foundation for low-backlash assembly.
• Durability: All guides and shafts underwent high-frequency induction hardening, achieving a surface hardness of HRC 58–62 to support long-term, high-duty AOI operation.

2. Noise Reduction Technology

AOI machines typically work in clean, relatively quiet environments, so running noise matters. We optimized the linear guides with a Z1 light preload and a polymer return-tube design. This combination:

• Reduces ball collision sound and metal-on-metal friction noise.
• Improves low-speed smoothness, which is critical for inspection accuracy.
• Maintains sufficient rigidity for fast positioning during acceleration and deceleration.

3. One-Stop Kitting & Blind Drop-Shipping

From the end user’s point of view, they were simply receiving neatly packed linear motion kits from Eric’s company. Behind the scenes, we acted as his private factory:

• Complete kitting: We supplied linear guides, C5 ball screws, matched couplings, motor brackets and support units as one kit per axis.
• Custom foam packaging: Each set was packed in foam-lined inner boxes with clear position markings, reducing assembly time on the customer’s production line.
